Brief Synopsis – An ATF agent investigating a recent terror event must race against time to stop the madman responsible.

My Take on it – This is a film that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every time I’ve seen it.

It has a great mix between action, thriller and sci-fi and manages to stay engaging throughout.

Love the way that the story starts off seeming like a typical action thriller, but once they introduce the sci-fi aspect to the story, the level of enjoyment goes up exponentially due to the way that things unfold.

The do a great job reeling the plot and sub-plots along the way in a subtle way that allows for both the audience and characters to try and take in all that transpires here.

The cast is so enjoyable to watch as Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer keep things quiet fascinating to observe as things unfold.

The film’s attempt to pay attention to details is essential and the character played by Washington is a superb one to try and help keep things feeling realistic despite the sci-fi aspects of it all.

Recommended!

They do a great job not wasting too much time trying to explain the sci-fi elements of the story and that is able to make it all seem quite matter of fact without a need for a long and convoluted explanation of how it all works.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Scriptwriters Terry Rossio and Bill Marsilii didn’t feel Tony Scott captured what they wrote in the screenplay. They felt he was more interested in the action scenes than the intricacies of time travel. They felt they wrote a plot that was airtight, but in Scott’s hands, the finished product is now filled with plot holes. Rossio was so disillusioned with the film that he’s never seen it. Scott also admitted he did a mediocre job directing the film, but blamed that on the nineteen-week production schedule, which wasn’t as long as he wanted. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10) (no change from original review)
