A voice in the wilderness crying out to God’s own people: Selfishness and self-love have come to rule your hearts. They have taken up the place of ‘king’ in your hearts, instead of the King of glory. How can you say that you love Him when you do not even go to see Him? He waits and waits and waits – in vain, for you do not go. You prefer to fill your lives with useless things that do not speak, breathe or give life, than with the Presence of Beautiful Love.
