One question people have asked me is whether Mont-Saint-Michel is in Normandy or Brittany.
According to Tourisme Bretagne, "The world-famous island abbey may stand just across the border in Normandy, but much of the phenomenal World Heritage Site Baie du Mont St-Michel forms part of Brittany."
While doing some research, I also learnt that there once were woods across the bay. After WWII, people planted wooden posts (a.k.a. "bouchots") in that area to breed mussels. The moules de bouchots are coveted food in France.
