A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour and Blog Hop
Welcome to The Very Merry Christmas Home Tour. I’m so happy to be participating with 30 other amazing home, diy and decor bloggers. Every time I get invited to a blog tour, I am always so impressed and inspired by the creativity that these women put into their projects. You can see the whole list of participants at the bottom of this post. Please be sure to hop around and say hello! But for my tour let’s start at the front door!
Vintage and gold and glam is the theme for Christmas this year. I loved my gold and neutral Thanksgiving decor so much that I just decided to keep the theme going a little longer. Ok, so I used a bit of red ribbon, but that’s all the red you will see here, I promise!
I like to set the scene at the door for what you are going to find inside! A little bit vintage, a little bit of glitter and lots of natural greenery. I painted this sign the other day and I love that it points you in the right direction.
I bought this vintage sled from a fellow vendor at my retail space and I love it! It’s the perfect addition to my entry.
I added some vintage ice skates to my fresh greenery wreath. Seriously? How did anyone ever skate on these?
Well, come on in! The family room is the perfect place to cozy up with a hot chocolate on our chilly California nights! And by chilly I mean 50 (not that chilly really!) Can you see now why I turned that giant piece of art into a chalkboard? It’s the perfect focal point for this room. I just realized I never tidied up the magazines under the coffee table. Consider that a sneak peak into the reality of a bloggers life!
But hopefully you were too distracted by the birch angel wings I made to notice! Oh, these wings! I have had this vision in my head for a few months now and it’s one of those projects that turned out even better than I imagined. A full tutorial is coming next week.
I’ve had this vintage ladder in my garage for awhile. It needed a new home and in the corner with a cozy blanket was just the spot.
Hey, there’s a Christmas Tree in this room too! I didn’t get a fresh tree last year or the year before. Come to think of it, it’s been awhile. But this year I just got the itch for that fresh pine smell. I almost regretted that decision as my husband and I messed with the lights for a full week before I could decorate it. But it was worth it.
Faux birch ribbon, glittered burlap flowers, gold ornaments! And those little mirrors? They are actual mirrors from Target but they look so good on the tree!
Here’s the whole room in all it’s Christmas glory!
I kept things pretty simple in the living room. More fresh greenery and neutral colors. Oops, one of my reindeer is on the lean! Probably because our Elf on the Shelf was perched up there before I took this pic. Don’t tell the kids, but I touched our Elfie! I hope he doesn’t loose his magic. (wink, wink)
I made our Christmas stockings last year from drop cloth and left over fabric. Glass glitter letters for everyone adds a personalized touch so Santa doesn’t get confused. There’s even one for the dog, cause she’s family too.
The reindeer on the mantel were those brown paper mache deer that you can find at a craft store. I found mine last year at a garage sale and a little white paint and glass glitter made all the difference.
On my side tables I have some vintage ornaments in vintage jars. And doesn’t everything just get better when you put it on a cake stand?
I have this display on the other side table and I love the mercury glass tree. It adds that element of vintage sparkle.
I have small touches of Christmas all over this room. But they are neutral and cozy. Nothing really pops out too much or stands out and screams Christmas. That’s what my husband says he likes about the decor this year. To quote him “Let me tell you what I like about your decorating. There are little bits of Christmas all over the place and it all goes together without making you feel suffocated by all kinds of Christmas stuff.” I’m pretty sure sure that was a compliment and I’ll take it!
Hope you enjoyed my tour. Please feel free to pin any of these images. Now don’t forget to visit all my amazing blogger friends. You won’t be disappointed!
