A Stylish Handbag Can Make Your Outfit

By Therealsupermum @TheRealSupermum

Why is choosing a handbag so difficult? I was attending a friends 40th birthday last weekend and although I had the outfit prepared, I began to panic when I didn’t have a handbag to match.

The outfit would have been ruined if I had not been able to find one that completed the look.

Thankfully my mother collects handbags and she has so many, I knew she would have one that I could borrow.

She has so many she could start her own shop, I have never seen the fascination with handbags until recently, when I didn’t have one.

Within no time she raced to my rescue with three choices. I was relieved.

I am one of these people who carry everything around with me, call it habit, but I like to take things I may need in an emergency.

I needed one big enough to carry my camera too. A little clutch may have looked classy but it wasn’t going to hold all the make-up, my purse and my mobile was it?

The husband laughs I even have the kitchen sink in my bag.

For so long I have been used to using a baby changing bag, that I have never bought a handbag for years. As the children no longer need so many items when we go out with them, I now face the difficult task of buying myself a new handbag, just for me.

The newspapers and magazines are full of inspiration, and let’s face it, who can resist not copying a fashion icon?

The last leather bag I had was ruined when I tried to wash it with baby wipes, there’s a tip, never use wipes on leather as it leaves it stained.

My daughter is in love with the latest skull designs that are currently available and I have just bought her a new skull handbag that she will use as a school bag. The days of satchels are long gone.

They come in so many different colours too; there is never an excuse not to have a matching handbag to your outfit.

My mother’s collection has put my own to shame and I think a new one will be on my list this year to Santa.

How many handbags do you own?
