“A Sneetch is a Sneetch and Other Philosophical Discoveries” by Thomas E. Wartenberg is a treat for all those adults, like me, who love to read children’s books. This book is about taking picture books seriously. No need to pretend to buy picture books to your children any more!
The book unveils the profound philosophical wisdom that many stories contain. From Dr Seuss’s Sneetches to William Steig’s Shrek! , Wartenberg discusses the philosophical ideas in classic stories, and gives us fun and interesting suggestions for how to engage children in exploring the stories. Below is an interview with the author. I am reading the book so a more thorough review will come soon.
