A Romantic Abbeywood Wedding

By Lovegetssweeter @LoveGetsSweeter

When I met Michelle and Mike for the first time at my Burscough home I was just so excited about their wedding. Not only were they just a really, really nice couple (like, really) they were also getting married at an incredible venue called Abbeywood Estate and Gardens in Delamere forest, Cheshire! Having grown up in Nottingham and enjoyed numerous trips to Sherwood Forest I knew I’d be in my element!

The weather was on our side and stayed try the whole day. As the guys got ready on site at Abbeywood the girls stayed down the road at a local farm house and holiday cottage, Linmere Moss Farm. It always feels like you have all the time in the world getting ready in the morning but it does end up running away with you and soon I was ferrying the bridesmaids to the venue while Michelle had her make-up finished off by Hollie Sadler (turns out taxi’s in Delamere aren’t very reliable!). The guys were soon ready and getting little Alex, their son, dressed in his mini groomsman outfit. They headed over to the impressive glasshouse to greet the guests and wait nervously for the bridal party. Michelle was soon ready and opening up all her lovely gifts from her bridesmaids and her soon to be husband and then we were ushered out of the Abbeywood cottage and down through the forest towards the glasshouse for the ceremony.

As always I was drawn in to the ceremony and watching their happy faces as they said their vows and soon they were announced back down the aisle as husband and wife!

Guests were then directed to the beautiful landscaped gardens at the back of Abbeywood Estate before the couple joined them for some canapes and photos. Amy Faith then helped them sneak away from their guests so they could enjoy some couple time and capture some gorgeous photographs of just the two of them. Michelle was a pro knowing how to pose! Mike wasn’t too bad either…

Mr and Mrs Johnson were warmly welcomed by their guests as the wedding breakfast started. The menu looked mouthwatering and we had the pleasure of even having some of the soup ourselves (seriously delicious, thank you Michelle and Mike..and the staff at Abbeywood!). The meal was swiftly followed by the speeches and they were full of heart-warming and funny stories about the couple.

Then it was time for the evening guests to arrive and for the newly-weds to take to the dance floor for their cake cutting and first dance. They were then joined by their family who sang along to the Oasis track before we headed off to leave them all enjoying their evening.

This really was a gorgeous wedding. I know it’s easy to say that as all my weddings are amazing in their own way, I’m just really pleased they picked me to film it for them and just loved watching their film over and over! It really has been a pleasure!
