A Post Punk Revival: The Old Senate Session Hall

I believe that the more you know about the past, the better you are prepared for future. - Theodore Roosevelt

Buildings are like people in many ways. Some badly needs a conversation while some would rather listen first. Some  just would  mumble  a few  words or the worst wouldn’t say nothing at all. I doubt if the old Senate Session Hall in the former Legistative Building in Manila would just sit back though. If only this building could speak, it would loudly tell us the different stories, enlightening debates among the law makers and privilege speeches that shaped the entire nation during its heyday. Thanks to the efforts undertaken by the National Museum, the Old Senate Session Hall has been restored to its prewar glory. From its columns to historical walls  all the way to the vivid floors – you’ll feel the grandeur of the entire place. One would feel nostalgic just by staring at  the intricate designs of it’s ceiling.  It actually took two years and  a whopping P20 million pesos for the restoration of the entire project. Nowadays the renovated hall is being considered as a venue for some official government activities (perhaps to be use during state dinners) and private events that wouldn’t desecrate the place such as conferences or dinners. This is great because private events will surely give an additional income that can be use for the maintenance of the place. It’s probably one of the most under-rated places in Metro Manila but I strongly suggest you checkout this place.
