Gender reveals, bachelorette fiestas, cake smash photo shoots...it seems these days there's a party or reason to celebrate for everything. And one of the latest ideas trending amongst expecting parents is a "Baby Sprinkle". It's not a sprinkle theme baby shower, but a baby shower-like party for parents who already have kids, but may have been a few years since their firsts or are looking for a few gender specific items for the new baby girl joining a group of brothers. It can actually be whatever theme you'd like, but how can you not use sprinkles, or at least their colors, as the inspiration for this adorable celebration.
"Sprinkled with Love" and pastels were the main focus for this baby sprinkle we put together a few weeks ago for my cousins, who welcomed the absolutely baby Helena Isabel last week!Gorgeous peach Juliet garden roses, soft pink Mums, delicate light blue hydrangeas, and pops of fun yellow solidago, these lovely centerpieces were the focal point of this celebration, and boy, or should I say girl, were they a sight to see! Grouped together, these pretty flowers created the most beautiful colorful pastel rainbow. I wanted to take the traditional sprinkle colors but showcase them in soft hues found naturally in pretty summer blooms. What I love the most about this delicate centerpiece is that it works for any gender, whether expecting a boy or girl, these colors work just perfectly. Baby sprinkles don't need to be full-fledged decorated parties, and with this one, my client wanted to keeps things quite simple, focusing more on guests enjoying themselves. Each lovely centerpiece was placed atop a rustic wood round along with bug-off candles, because it's summer and these are a total necessity when it comes to warding off unwanted party guests. "Sprinkled with Love" was this baby sprinkle's mantra. It was sprinkled onto a banner that swayed above the gift table and more pretty blooms, as well as the cutest tags atop sweetest donut tower!
Backyard parties can be simple and beautiful, without costing a lot. For this celebration we made use of the client's outdoor furniture to create a relaxing area beneath a shady tree and the lovely flowers growing in the garden. It was a gorgeous summer day, guests retreated to comfy lawn chairs, mingled underneath the tent or played with the kiddos at their activity picnic table.
At any sunny summer party, a signature cocktail is pretty much a must. Guests received a personalized cup so they could sip and chill with a delicious watermelon mojito. The lovely Sunday afternoon ended with a sweet and simple dessert table, fitted with a mandatory sprinkle donut tower with the cutest tags and cupcakes topped with festive Father's Day ties. Lastly we setup an ice cream bar, that was devoured in an instant. And yes there were plenty of sprinkles!!
There was another special aspect of this baby sprinkle, it happened to be a father's day get-together too. When you're already celebrating a beautiful milestone why not add another reason to honor and celebrate guests attending. And it isn't a party without a little something sweet for guests to take back home with them. The ladies were gifted with mini succulents potted in glass votives, while the gentlemen received mini DIY colognes.
When having a baby sprinkle or any summer party, kids are bound to be guests. One of my go-to tips is to have an array of activities for them to keep busy and have fun. Summer parties allow for plenty of fun activities, like bubbles, chalk drawing, ballgame playing, and coloring.
This baby sprinkle was just the loveliest celebration, and an effortless happy affair to plan. Now let's continue to swoon over these beautiful florals and adorable babies....
