A Night At Sandman Signature

What better way to start your weekend, than a night away?
I'm a firm believer in taking some time out and having short trips away. Whether that's a night in Newcastle, popping over to The Lake District, or a little further afield on a plane. Sometimes it's nice to be away in a city you know like the back of your hand, but not having to think about taxi fares back home, or if you miss the last train. So earlier this month, I packed an overnight bag and headed for a little night away at Sandman Signature.Settled into our suite for the evening, we had some time to relax before changing and heading out for dinner. Whilst we could've dined in Shark Club, the Gastro Bar attached to the hotel, I'd already pre-booked a meal at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse (as a little surprise for my boyfriend) I have however, heard good things about their chicken wings and will be returning to try them out!
Our suite had all the necessities and even a kitchenette, which was a nice addition. I'm always happy when I have a kettle so I can make a cuppa, but having a fridge, hob and microwave too means it would be perfect for a weekend stay or business trip. There's shops and supermarkets nearby so you could easily whip up a stir fry if you wanted a cosy night in, or be lazy and order room service - I'm not judging!
I was impressed by the magnifying mirror in the bathroom which proved especially useful to touch up my makeup I'd had on since 7am that morning. The rainfall shower was good too and I was glad we had some shower gel to use - silly me forgot to pack any in my bag! Is it just me or is there nothing worse than a hotel with a shower that's either not powerful enough, or takes forever to heat up?
Returning from our meal, I popped on my pjs and was ready to cosy up in our big bed. Thankfully check out was midday, so we could have a lazy morning before I finally agreed we should head down for breakfast served in Shark Club. We're talking buffet style full English, so of course I filled up my plate with sausages, bacon, beans, hash browns - everything - then returned for a pancake and some fruit.
The lobby was very cute and cosy, with big comfy couches and hot drinks available, I could've happily sat and enjoyed another cuppa, but we had shops to go to and blog photos to shoot for me - that winter sun doesn't stick around long in the afternoons!
Our stay at Sandman Signature was lovely and it's in a great location for getting into the city center whether you're in Newcastle for a football match, a romantic getaway or a girly weekend. They've actually got a cyber week offer on at the moment too where you can save up to 25% with the code CYBER. More details on their website if you need the full t&c's.
Have you stayed at Sandman Signature hotels before? We were kindly given a complimentary overnight stay and breakfast for two. All words and photos are my own.
