A New Look for The Greenhouse

By Thefoodiecoupleblog

Last week we were lucky enough to be invited down to one of the launch nights of the The Green House pub in Mere Green following a significant refurbishment. The look is much more contemporary than before and oozes style and modern touches and we enjoyed looking around the new look bar and dining room, as well as the new al fresco eating area too.

We took a seat in the classy but cosy new bar area and nibbled on some canapés, to whet our appetite for the meal. There is a new gin and cocktail menu too, with some premium gins to choose from as well as classic cocktails.

The new dining area seemed much more luxurious before, with low level lighting, lots fo rich colouring and modern furnishings

We tried 3 courses from their seasonal menu, and I recognised some old favourites on there as well as some interesting new dishes.

The standout out of the night for me had to be the FILLET STEAK with an ale-glazed shallot tart topped with Cropwell Bishop custard, Stilton & walnut crumb and twice-cooked chunky chips was just mouthwateringly good.

And if you want a bit of drama for dessert you must go for the MELTING CHOCOLATE & PEANUT BOMB filled with sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter cream and Bourbon vanilla ice cream & hot salted caramel sauce.

There are some great choices too for vegetarians and vegans with a separate vegan menu.

We loved the new look, a great backdrop fir socialising with friends and family for all occasions.

Disclaimer: Our meal was gifted free of charge, thanks to all the lovely staff at the Greenhouse for a lovely night.
