A London Walker Reviews: "When I Die and Go to Heaven I Don't Want to Be Greeted by St Peter I Want to Be Greeted by a London Walks Guide"

By Lwblog @londonwalks

Mary, Fiona, Maxine & Noel in the London Walks office write… On Mondays & Fridays we'll be sharing reviews of our London Walks written by London Walkers. Firstly, THANKS to all who have written to us down through the years, your kind words are greatly appreciated! Our guides don't solicit these reviews on our tours – we believe that this would be a waste of your time. That's what makes these reviews all the more special – they have been sent to us by genuine London Walkers who have given up their valuable time to drop us a line or two, or leave a comment on travel message boards & websites. Thanks everyone.

Mary writes… This one of the loveliest emails we have ever had the pleasure to receive…

Hello Mary and David,

You do not have much in the way of testimonials on your website but I would like to offer one.
My first London Walk was in October 1974 and I have been on everyone at least twice and some many, many times.  That is saying something for someone who doesn't drink to have have been on all those pub walks.
I have introduced family members, clients and friends to the pleasures of being entertained and of learning so very much from each and everyone of your guides.  I really do not think London walks is the gold standard I think it is in a league of its own.  There is really no comparison.
I can remember taking tours with Shakespearean actors as guides; or with a gentlemen who dressed, walked, and talked like Oscar Wilde right down to the green carnation.  London Walks guides have never put a foot wrong or uttered a untrue word.
I remember a time when a close friend was near the end of her life.  I asked her what she might want to do and she said go to England.  By the time we arrived the cancer had taken her sight but every single London Walk we took the guide brought her up to front and carefully and with wonderful alliteration described each and every moment of every walk.
I have traveled to 67 countries and nowhere is a firm anything like London Walks.  You make both old and new London; strange and wonderful London; blimey even little bit of London alive and vibrant as if you there at the time something was actually taking place.
When I die and go to heaven I don't want to be greeted by St Peter I want to be greeted by a London Walks guide that way I am sure to get in with no trouble.
Thank you for offering something so unique.
Regards
