A Huge Illegal Source Of Guns

There is no doubt that the legal sale of guns should be made tighter in this country, by closing loopholes that allow guns to be sold without a background check. But there is another source of guns that something needs to be done about also -- gun theft from homes and vehicles. Having nearly a million and a half guns stolen in a five year period is unacceptable, especially when 80% of them are not recovered (until after they have been used in some crime). It should be mandatory for a gun owner to have to report these thefts to the police, and ways need to be found to make those guns harder to steal (especially if we are going to continue to allow the possession of assault weapons).
