  • The island is off-limits on Mondays and is open on all other days throughout the week.
  • While visiting this place one will carry their food and water as there is a shortage of food kiosks on the island.
  • Entry to the island is strictly prohibited and can only be done after obtaining prior permission from the Department of Administration at Vandur Beach.
  • Plastic containers should not be moved to the island as the area is a plastic-free zone.
  • Do not bring them back if you find any shells or corals on the island. If you want to collect anything, get prior permission from the government.
  • Carry with you other essentials like sunscreen, clothing, insect repellent.
  • Ghat services are fast at 9 am, so try to arrive on time and arrive in advance.
  • Make sure you carry water in a Milton jar or something similar to plastic is not welcome.
  • No night stay is allowed, therefore, one has to return to the mainland by the end of the day.

The beach is 30 km from the capital city of Port Blair and from there one has to board a ferry ride to reach the island. Regular rides are available as the ferry service starts at 9 am. The return journey to the mainland starts at 2:30 pm. Travelers using the road from Port Blair city to Vandoor village are welcomed by the lush green vegetation, which is a treat to the eyes.
