Fellow Patriots,
I Wish You All A Very Warm And Loving Thanksgiving!
We need to all take a day off from politics, and enjoy this day with our loved ones.
But I want to give you these words of Inspiration and of Our Own Hope for a brighter future.
Although I did not write this, I share the thoughts and sentiments of the author.
~Terry
From Tony Adkins @ Conservative Daily:At the First Thanksgiving in 1621, the Pilgrims and Wampanoag people, with their leader Massasoit, feasted and celebrated for about a week after the long and difficult winter.
In the dark days before the harvest, Pilgrims watched their own suffer and die; many must have given up hope they would make it…but those that did not give in to their circumstances, gave thanks for their harvest and were able to regroup, recharge and renew.
That is what conservatives need to do today. We have faced a difficult four years, tempered only by a brief flash of victory in the November 2010 midterms. Just a few weeks ago, the very long election season came to an end, and we are still processing the fact that Barack Obama will be in office another four years.
While it may seem that we spent the greater part of the last two years fighting for change that didn’t happen on November 6th, that’s not the case. We may be stuck with the same President for four more years, but we aren’t stuck with the same Congress, and it’s high time they got the message that we the people are fed up.
That is why now is not the time to give up. It’s time to give thanks, regroup, recharge and press on.
Victory in 2014 and 2016 is not inevitable; we have to work for it. Though we feel tired and beaten and we yearn for better days ahead, all is not lost. We believe in America, and we are thankful for this nation. We believe in freedom, and we are thankful for this God-given right.
We are thankful for our voices that rise up and defend our Constitution, and we are thankful for the freedom we have maintained by working together.
We owe it to those who came before us and fought valiantly through difficult times to see our mission through. This nation is great, and this Constitution sacred. It is ours to defend, and to see that others do, as well.
Colonist Edward Winslow wrote of the harvest feast, “And although it be not always so plentiful as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want that we often wish you partakers of our plenty.”
Our country may not be where we want it to be; yet by the goodness of God, our feast is plentiful. There are millions of us around the nation who want to protect our Constitution and the American Dream. We have our families, and our friends, and the inextinguishable desire to preserve the pursuit of happiness. This Thanksgiving, Conservative Daily is thankful for you, concerned citizens who are going to preserve and shape our great future
Happy Thanksgiving, to you and yours.
