Charming, fun, delightful, stunning and simply divine are words I’d use to describe this incredible wedding in Middleton and Altrincham, Cheshire. I’d been so excited about this day from the very moment they booked and every meeting, email and chat we had after that made me love them more and more. Their daughter Heidi even came round to one pre-wedding meeting and we spent most of the time cooing over how cute she was babbling away with Paisley!
Anyway, back to the wedding! After saying their vows in front of family and friends at St Peter’s Church in Middleton they took their wedding celebrations to The Cheshire Hall (formally Davenport Green Hall) in Altrincham. But before all that we had the joy of filming them both get ready…
Sherie spent the morning at her Mum’s beautiful home with her bridesmaids, Mum, flower girls and not forgetting their talented wedding photographer Mick Cookson where they had professional hair and make-up artists on hand to make them all look even more glamorous. We even had a bit of a musical performance from the flowergirls (which didn’t give everyone a headache, honest!). The boys were over at their home getting ready before heading over to the local pub before the church service. Totally out the blue they decided to perform for the camera on the way to the church which made for some funny footage as you’ll see…
The church was soon filling up with guests and Jonathan waited nervously at the front for his bride. This was after he had to shoot back home to get the wedding rings that he’d forgotten…which the priest pointed out a few times during the service even though I’d done well to keep it from Sherie on the morning! Thankfully Sherie was a little late due to the flowers arriving late so it gave him time to get back to the church and still have time to get nervous all over again.
Sherie arrived with a huge grin and clearly couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle. The flower girls were more keen and made their way down to the front before the music had even started! Jonathan and Sherie met at the front of the church smiling at each other and squeezing each others hands, one of the sweetest moments I’ve seen. The ceremony went without a hitch, Heidi even took a few moments to pose at the front for all the guests to see (potentially stealing the show a little, don’t you think?) and they were soon walking back down the aisle as husband and wife.
Sherie and Jonathan arrived at The Cheshire Hall in Altrincham to champagne and excited guests but before they could chat Mick Cookson whisked them off for a few bride and groom portraits in the venue’s grounds. They posed like pros and they both looked gorgeous being all romantic and cuddling up to each other (I love filming this part of the day!). Sophia and Heidi got the best deal as the couple had hired Nannies to keep the children entertained and they were playing games all afternoon!
Then after a quick catch up with guests they all headed to the front drive for group photos before heading in to the barn for the wedding breakfast. And how nice did that barn look? With gorgeous sequins and hanging lanterns the room looked stunning and guests were soon seated and enjoying their fancy 3 course meal.
Speeches were next and Sherie even stood up to give an emotional few words to thank her Mum and new Husband. Guests then found the photobooth highly entertaining before heading back in to the barn to see the couple take to the dancefloor for their first dance as husband and wife. Their incredible wedding band, The Dawn, even sang their first dance song Three Little Birds and did an incredible job of keeping the dance floor full (possibly my favorite band of the year so far!).
