With the release of two seasons back in 2020, Netflix became the sole home for new seasons of Thomas & Friends two years ago, but that arrangement looks to be over, with both seasons departing Netflix in a dramatic way on January 14th, 2022.
Update, January 19th, 2022: In the United States, both of the deleted seasons have resurfaced on Netflix. On the 14th of January, an original tale was published:
The show’s elimination came as a total surprise, with no removal date alerts showing and the show’s removal being noticeably absent from the January 2022 PR release.
Season 20 was taken up by Netflix in early 2020, with season 23 following in March 2020 and season 24 following in September 2020. It’s worth mentioning that some Thomas & Friends seasons are still available on Netflix in Australia, Japan, and Sweden.
A number of additional Thomas-related titles are still available on Netflix in the United States (and other locations). The newest season of the main series, which drastically transformed the aesthetic of the program, was released in the United States (leading to some outrage).
The excellent thing is that Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go will be available solely on Netflix in the second half of 2021 in the United States and Latin America.
Other Thomas movies that are still available on Netflix in the United States as of January 2022 include:
Marvelous Machinery: A New Arrival (Thomas and Friends)
Marvelous Machinery: World of Tomorrow is a film directed by Thomas and his friends.
The Royal Engine (Thomas & Friends)
Other areas can play Thomas & Friends: Race for the Sodor Cup (Latin America and Asia) and Thomas & Friends: King of the Railway (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) (Netflix Sweden exclusively).
After quitting Netflix, where can you watch Thomas & Friends?
The good news is that Thomas & Friends can be found in other places. According to Just Watch, the program is available on Amazon Prime Video in 12 seasons.
The Roku Channel has ten seasons accessible if you don’t want to pay for another membership.
Other major children’s franchises are set to be phased out, including My Little Pony and Transformers.
