Do you notice something different on the blog today? Madalynne got a makeover! Not a Miley Cyrus kind of remix; more like a Jennifer Anniston evolution. Pre Rachel to post Brad Pitt.
It’s been a long time coming, but it was time for a change around these parts. I started blogging 8 years ago as an awful fashion blogger and 6 years after my first post is when I became a bonafide sewing blogger. It has been 2 years since I made that transition and over those 24 months, I grew up and out of my old blog design. The new Madalyne is cleaner, and has a look to go along with all the exciting, new things coming this year, which I’ll go into below. Also, the blog now matches my madalynne.com site, which is where you will find the 411 on the Madalynne brand.
I created the new layout with Ink + Mortar and it was a fun, collaborative process. All of the vintage sewing notions that surround the page were photographed by me and were inspired by my Instagram series, #thewaysewingusedtobe. Lots of thanks goes to Liz and Sharon, who helped turn my vision into a reality.
I’m still working on some tiny tweaks and kinks, so bear with me for the next few weeks as I get all the pages in working order. And if there is anything that isn’t functioning on your end, let me know!
Although I’ve never publicize it, I’ve offered private sewing lessons for about a year. For those who live in the Philadelphia area, there is now a page dedicated to the lessons I provide. I take students on a first come, first serve basis, and lessons are held either at Madalynne Studios or in your home.
Something else I’ve never publicized is my photography outside of sewing. I recently opened a shop on Society 6 where you can buy my sewing-related prints, and in addition, I have provided product photos for shops on Etsy, event photography (sewing parties included), portrait sessions with local artists and more. Check out the packages I provide any my portfolio on my photography page.
This week, I’ll be announcing and opening registration for my bra workshops next year!
