A Beautifully Gruesome New Video from Glass Animals [video]

If you don’t have a stomach for seeing blood/open wounds, consider yourself warned about the strikingly gruesome images in the beginning of Glass Animals’ new video for “Psylla”. Don’t be deterred, though! With the help of laid-back, soulful vocals, including a cappella harmony interludes (reminiscent of another of our favorite British indie rock groups, Alt-J), these gory wounds are soon transformed into sites of rebirth, with vibrant flowers rising from the gashes. I’m not sure if the images aid the song or vice versa, but what starts out as a chilling scene with sparse instrumentation shifts into a scene of natural beauty and warmth, making things right, as stated in the first line of the song. “Psylla” is an exciting glimpse at what Glass Animals’ will offer on their upcoming EP, also titled Psylla.
