IN LESS THAN 50 WORDS: Alright, this was different chapter all together. This is because one of the main pillars of our club Zethu was off to Mumbai for some years. It was only 2 days since I had turned 24years so we decided to go for one last ride for a few years to come !!
INTRO & PLAN:It had been about 20days since our trek together to the caves of Nijaggal. This time we had decided to go for a ride. Something moderate not too hard as the packing was still due. Finally we narrowed it down to Muthati. As it was Friday many couldn’t join us during this run and we decided to go on one bike, his Avenger.TIME: 22:00 (12/6/2014)
ASSEMBLE & LEAVE:Yeah I was up at 05:00, did a few puh ups & situps, had a cup of coffee and was all set to go. It was decided that Zethu would be coming home to pick me up. Shit, trust me it felt kind off weird, one last ride. But these things were bound to happen, it only about whether you had foreseen such situations or no. Anyway, enough of such philo-crap, once Zethu arrived, we headed out of Bangalore.TIME: 07:45RIDE 1: (Bangalore – Bidadi – Kabbaldurga - Muthati)Okay, this was about a 100kms stretch, mixed with highways, country roads, hair pin curves, forest roads , yeah! We started off pretty slow, like always, we went to speak about how he had planned things up in Mumbai. The initial stretch was on the butter smooth SH-17 (Mysore Road) In about 30mins we reached Bidadi, where we decided to pull over at our regular hotel for some tasty breakfast.TIME: 08:30Once we were done with breakfast, we decided to have some tea (wait, we actually burped :P) After the tea, we took off from Bidadi, deciding that the next stop would be just before the town of Kabblu. So the cruise continued, so did the talks about our college days and what not. After about 30kms or so on the smooth highway we reached Channpatna. From here we proceeded towards Sathnur. The temperature of the air dropped, the greenery increased and we did slow down to take in most of the beauty in. It was a pleasant ride below the huge green trees which allowed only few rays of the sun to hit the road. After about 15-20kms we could see Kabblu (waving at us, welcoming us into her town! heh!) We stopped and waved back :PWe took a small pit stop just before we could enter the town. We had a sip of water and decided we ride on. We reached Sathnur in a 10-15mins and from there the ride to muthati began.TIME: 10:30
The ride to Muthati is always nice. This time it was no different. We were surprised to see a check post with forest officials. After enquiring regarding to when it was established and shit like that, we decided to ride on. The roads had turned pretty sad, initially it was a roller coaster ride. We did stop at a few places and just sat on the roadside enjoying the sight of greenery and few strange birds here & there ( Oh yeah the elephant story did come up again :P) We roe at a slow pace throughout the roads of the forest making sure the forests wasn’t disturbed by our presence. Finally, just before reaching Muthati, we decided to crash at our regular spot, which by the way is much more peaceful & much more cleaner than the actual spot. So we went off road and reached the spot.TIME: 11:15MUTHATI:
We parked the bike below a tree and decided to rest in the waters. We sat on boulders and kept our legs in the flowing waters for the fish to tickle haha. Then the talks continued about the club’s future and how to sustain it with Zethu being gone for some years. I knew it would be difficult but it would be as it would be right? Then we had a few games played such as “ Changing the Scenario” (One scenario of a trip, how different it would have turned out if this hadn’t happened) And the hot topic of the “100thTrip” still continued. After spending about 1.25hrs at the place we decided to head back.TIME:12:30 RIDE 2: (Muthathi – Kanakpura - Bangalore) This was a 100kms ride back to Bangalore. But this time we decided to take the kanakpura road as it was noon and the roads were much better. So left Muthati at about 12:30 and we made sure we stopped at the tree stretch as we would like to call it for taking some photographs. After which we rode back the checkpost and told the officers “first improve roads saaar” ! We continued towards Kanakpura. The roads were super smooth but with the sun up the temperatures had shot up. We pulled over at a few places take have some water. We decided that the lunch would taken near our college rather than dhaba on the highway. So we rode non-stop until we reached NICE road entrance at Kanakpura road. After this we directly ended up near college, here we went to Biriyani Mane.. hmm college memories evoked again.TIME: 15:30 We belted some Biryani and concluded the trip. Zethu dropped me back to my home. Wishing him good luck for the days to come said I would try my best to hold things apart until he returns. The last ride concluded. Will miss you brother!TIME: 16:00
