8 Children's Books About Winter

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns

We woke up to snow this morning and I thought it would be nice to do a round up of winter books. I reviewed most of these on the blog before so just click on links to read a little more about them.
  • Cub's First Winter A heartming story about Cub's first winter with beautiful illustrations.
  • We adore the Frog series by Max Velthuijs and Frog in Winter is no exception.
  • Gerda Müller's seasonal books are great even for the youngest. There isn't a story in this book which encourages you to make up a different story each time or you can simply talk about all the beautiful details in the illustrations.
  • Nick Butterworth's Percy The Park Keeper series is a joy to read. My kids love reading about what all those mischevious animals in the park are up to.
  • One of the most beautiful children's books I have ever read: The Story of the Blanket.
  • Monday is another favorite story about a penguin called Monday.
  • One Winter's Day is a lovely tactile shorty story a little hedgehog whose nest is blown away.
  • The Snowman by Raymond Briggs is another  favorite with gorgeous illustrations. No words but a great story.
