This has always been one of my favorite Christmas films (and guilty pleasures), I love Arnold Schwarzenegger. I mean come on who doesn’t? Maybe its best if people don’t answer that one though!
This post is obviously a bit of fun and just showing how many Christmas film essentials it really does have, that you might just forget about. I mean come on a dad is trying to get the latest hottest toy for his son, he doesn’t wait until Christmas Eve or anything and think it will be easy to just go and pick it up. Oh. Then gets into a battle with another dad who is also trying to find a Turbo Man doll, which creates for quite possible the worst Christmas Eve ever.
Who is with me and totally loves and appreciates Jingle All The Way?
1. Santa
In actually fact loads of Santa’s who have their very own North Pole. Oh wait a minute they are trying to rip people off with poorly made knock off toys! Candy cane involved in a fight though!
“You guys are nothing but a bunch of sleazy conmen in red suits.”
2. Christmas Shopping
Howard is the best dad ever and of course did not leave his shopping of the toy that sold out weeks even months ago until Christmas Eve. So everything was lovely and perfect in these scenes . . .
“You can’t bench press your way outta this one”
3. Christmas Parade
Totally American of course but they have a parade on Christmas Eve with none other than Turbo Man as the star attraction. But when the two battling dads end up against each other it was always going to be entertaining!
4. Carol Singers
Outside of the houses just minding their own business when one of the wise men from a nativity set up comes crashing through the window and into the snow. Exactly what you expect when singing Christmas Carol’s of course.
5. Reindeer
A lovely animal that helps Santa right? Well, in this case protecting the house he is in and ends up worse for it. Yes, Arnie really does punch a reindeer! I actually totally forgot about that part until watching the film again.
6. Must have toy – Turbo Man
Trying to find it on Christmas Eve will be no problem then?!?! I certainly see this as more of a 90s theme as things don’t really seem to sell out as much as they used to, maybe because of more choice. But come on Howard becomes Turbo Man which is so much cooler than having the toy.
“I want the Turbo Man action figure with the arms and legs that move and the boomerang shooter and his rock’n roller jet pack and the realistic voice activator that says 5 different phrases including, “It’s Turbo time!” Accessories sold separately. Batteries not included.”
7. Arnold Schwarzenegger
This should really be the only reason you need to watch this film, whether you have seen it before or not. Arnie in a Christmas film! Come on! Put that cookie down!
Admit it.
You love this film too!
