Father’s Day is a great holiday celebrated around the world with the purpose of honoring dads. It is a great opportunity to bond and connect better with the people in your life, especially if you don’t get have much time to spend together otherwise. We always like to say that a father is a man who raises a child, not a man who has a child. Fatherhood is all about bonding and passing on real values.
We know that many people are looking for special activities they can do on Father’s Day. This is why, today we have put together a list of fun activities you can do on this day. Since Father’s Day is on a Sunday this year, that’s an extra reason to do something fun and memorable.
We chose a few Father’s Day activities which can be initiated by anyone can which can be done by anyone. They can be done as a family, with friends or anyone else.
Here is our list:
1. Go to a museum
Museums are quite fascinating places, where one can connect on a very direct way with history or a different culture. Besides being so culturally charged, going to a museum also has the advantage that you will learn a lot about a certain domain.
Going to a museum can be a useful experience if you do it as a family, as education and knowledge can be acquired at any age and at any level of education.
Most museums these days have interactive digital experiences visitors can use, which really make you feel more involved in the field you will be exploring. You can visit any type of museums: depending on the niche it covers, you can learn more about anything from animals or planes or you can educate your taste, should you visit an art museum.
2. Go shopping
Shopping can be a fun experience, especially if you want to buy something lasting, practical or with a certain emotional value, such as a memorabilia piece or an item that has a big meaning to you.
You will even find shopping experiences that are specially tailored for Father’s Day. For example, those of you who can make it to Tribeca, you can stop by the ManuelRacim store. They have come up with a very interesting idea: Fathers and sons (with ages 12 and under) can go to the shop and take part in a special fitting where they can create their shirts together. We really liked this idea when we heard about it because it seems to be a fun activity and a very practical one. This way, a dad can teach his son a couple of things about fashion and get a useful thing out of it.
They even made a video, which you can watch by clicking below:
After Father’s Day, you can always create an amazing custom shirt on the ManuelRacim website, as they are specialized in delivering great custom shirts services to men who wish to wear unique and original clothes!
3. Take a jump
Engaging in a crazy activity you always wanted to do is a very good idea you will sure remember. Jumping off an airplane with a parachute, doing bungee-jumping or any similar activity is something that is guaranteed to take your mind and body to the next level.
For those of you who want to do something just as exciting, but would like to stay on the ground, you can engage in sports such as paintball or archery. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or not, you can always have fun with it and enjoy the day!
4. Have a fancy dinner
Having a fancy dinner is not something many people tend to do these days. Using special china, enjoying a good meal, turning off the T.V. and focusing on what is happening at the table is a great way to unwind on a special occasion.
Moreover, to make it more special you can cook or order food that you don’t usually eat and would like to try out. There are a lot of restaurants out there that offer special menus, and you should definitely take advantage of them! If you want to go to a restaurant for the dinner or stay at home, that’s your choice.
5. Play board games
Playing board games is an activity that is very fun and can be done in a group of any number of people. The main advantages to playing board games, besides that you get to do something with a bunch of other people, is that they do not require much preparation, so they are perfect for those who are very busy and don’t have much time to plan a lot of things and they are inexpensive. While most of our recommendations involve some sort of investment, this one doesn’t cost much and can be just as amusing as anything else.
6. Go camping
If you can afford to be away from home for a longer while, you can take your tent and go camping somewhere for a day or two. Camping is a very relaxing activity, for those who like it of course.
There are many people who are not big fans of sleeping in the wild, but they can always camp out in the back yard.
7. Take a trip
Taking a trip can be a great idea for those who spend most of their time indoors. You can either drive to a nearby city or village that has something to offer such as a festival, a museum or a concert, or you can go hiking.
Going hiking is a great experience: you get to explore unknown places, see new things, maybe even take a few good photos and get a work-out! The only limit to hiking is the environment in which you live: some people don’t live in areas that have as many places to explore as others, but that should not stop you. Hiking can be done easily or as a challenge: a walk in the woods can be a good idea for some, while a trip to the top of a mountain can have a positive effect on another’s attitude.
It is very important for people to connect over special activities, as these are amazing opportunities to spend time together with your loved ones and catch up with them. Also, doing something pleasurable has a great impact on your attitude and can truly recharge your batteries. Choose the activity of your choice and enjoy the day!
