We usually take care of our skin, especially our face but neglect (or you may say lazy) taking care of our hands and feet which needs more attention in winter because the cold air robs away skin’s natural moisture.
Due to this, our skin gets extremely dry and leads to itchy, flaky, peeling, and sometimes even cracked feet and rough hands.
Therefore, it is essential to restore and re-hydrate our winter skin for softer hands and feet.
Last week my friend asked my advice for the cracked feet and even in my clinic, a few patients consulted for rough hands and feet.
So, here I am sharing a few easy and effective ways to Get Rid of Cracked Feet & Rough Hands in winter that will help you get smooth and soft winter skin.
1) Apply Moisturizers
Aforementioned, there is a lack of adequate natural moisture in the skin in winter and this is the main cause of cracked feet. To prevent it, apply moisturizer daily on your feet and soles. Regular use of moisturizer will keep your skin soft and prevent moisture loss.
The same goes for the rough hands. Apply moisturizer on your hands multiple times a day esp. after washing your hands and make it a routine.
And go for Ayurveda brands like Moha to avoid skin sensitivity or damages. Moha Moisturising Lotion enriched with the nourishment of Almond, Wheatgern, Sunflower & Aloe, hydrates, moisturizes and protects your skin, making it soft, smooth & radiant.
The importance of moisturizing your skin in winter is the key to hydrated and healthy skin. So always slather on a moisturizer.
2) Drink enough water
Yes, drink enough water at least 8-10 glasses per day to keep yourself and your skin hydrated.
The reason for cracked heels and dry hands is due to lack of moisturisation, so staying hydrated will soothe your skin.
3) Avoid hot water
Avoid taking hot shower baths and hot water for washing hands and feet because it can strip your natural skin oils and moisture.
Instead, use lukewarm water for bathing and washing hands & feet. Pat it dry and not completely dry, so that when you apply moisturizer on your damp skin, it will lock the moisture.
4) Avoid harsh soaps, instead opt for gentle cleanser
Avoid washing your hands and feet with harsh soaps as they can snatch oils from your skin and can make them drier.
Choose gentle or mild, chemical-free soaps like Moha Herbal Soap which is a Grade 1 antibacterial soap with 76%TFM, keeps your hands and feet moisturized along with keeping it clean.
