Over the summer my friends and I spent a week road tripping around the north of France. We had a fantastic time and it really is one of my favorite travel memories of the year.
I often dismiss France as a traveling destination because it is so close to home. I just assume I won’t be as amazed by it than further afield destinations especially because I’ve visited more than once. But I’m a little embarrassed by these thoughts since taking a road trip around the country. France is diverse and unique compared to the UK, there is more to France than rainy Normandy in March (a school trip I took back when I was 13). It has a beautiful capital city and many more cities with equally beautiful architecture. The countryside is luscious and green with so much open space and miles of driving where you won’t see another soul. And the rainy Normandy I mentioned is pretty impressive on a sunny day.
I won’t bore you with any more words though, I will just let the 65 photos below do the talking. Hopefully you too will be inspired by France to get planning your next trip to this underrated country.
