It is beyond doubt that both Trump family members and Trump campaign aides were in contact with Russian officials in an attempt to collude to help Trump win the 2016 election. The only real question now is -- Did Trump know about these contacts with Russians (and possibly even approve them)?
I think he did know. We know that Trump loves to micromanage his businesses and did the same with his presidential campaign. Why would he be ignorant of this one aspect of that campaign? He wasn't -- and personally, I believe he directed those contacts be made.
And nearly six out of 10 Americans agree (59%) -- at least that Trump did know the contacts were being done on his behalf.
If true, that would make him guilty of collusion himself -- because he did not stop the contacts, and did not report those contacts to the FBI.
The chart below is from the same CNN Poll, and shows his job approval has dropped to 36% -- a new low for this poll (and a new high for disapproval at 58%).
These charts reflect the results of the latest CNN / SSRS Poll -- done between November 2nd and 5th of a random national sample of 1,021 adults, with a 3.6 point margin of error.
