5 Things Tries out the New Winter Menu at Lotus Fine Dining Indian Restaurant, Charing Cross

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

Lotus restaurant is a fine dining restaurant a stone throw from some of London’s major attractions and theatres.

The food is superb and service impeccable. Going ‘out for a curry’ does not apply to Lotus. This is fine authentic Indian food designed to impress and delight.

One

Start with a glass of Cava whilst you digest the menu. As a welcome drink you will be served a warm spicy tomato broth accompanied by small poppadoms. The poppadoms can be dipped into a choice of three carefully chosen sauces and rich chutneys.

Two

We also had the Corn Chaat Golgappe. Pour the coriander infused sauce into each Golgappe and eat in one go. The flavours were sensational.

Three

Now for some real spice and something very different. We tried perhaps one of the most alternative items on the menu – the spiced venison, liver and lamb brain. This was served with a freshly cooked Malabar Parotta – a type of street food bread. The meat was perfectly tender but quite spicy and not for the faint hearted.

Four

Next for the lamb chops and rump (to be found under the kebab section of the menu). This lamb is served with garlic pickle, Indian onion and chilli salad. The accompanying wine with this dish is Heritage Reserve Zinfandel from California with a beautiful aftertaste of milk chocolate. Each dish has a suggested wine pairing which take the effort out of choosing.

Five

To finish ( and we were too full for dessert) we had a the refreshing Prawns Narkel Shorshe. The prawns are cooked within a de husked tender coconut and served with organic rice, Indian lemon and chillies.

Lotus is a place to take friends if you want to show off. The restaurant is in a perfect location and only a minutes walk from Leicester square.

The restaurant is known well by business clientele for its quality food, fine wines and impeccable service. Lotus serves fine Indian food at its best.
