Pergola Paddington is a huge, covered, rooftop bar located right in the heart of London's new Paddington development. Thanks to huge investment, what was once a dull business area of the city next to a train station has been completely transformed into a stylish and happening social space. And Pergola is the jewel in the crown. Here are 5 things to do there.

1. Enjoy the inside-outside vibe. Pergola has both open-air spots and areas covered with a Perspex roof that let in the light and breeze but protect you from the notorious British weather. Enjoy the feeling of being outdoors but without getting wet! It's great during Covid times, too, as their covered seating areas have plenty of ventilation.

2. Cosy up in a beach hut, book a picnic table, or even try a daybed. Pergola is huge and there are numerous seating options, so whether you're on an intimate date or hosting a party for 30 friends, they've got you covered.

3. Tuck into Japanese bao buns or a top-notch burger. Pergola has embraced the street food scene, and rather than have one kitchen, plays host to a variety of pop-up global food joints. Choose from four different cuisines including dim sum, jerk chicken, or a properly filthy burger, ordered from your phone and ready to collect in minutes.

4. Try a Bodega Bay hard seltzer. At only 73 calories per can and only 4% proof, this alcoholic flavoured sparkling water is a brilliant way to have a drink with your friends without ruining the next day. Less filling than beer, less dangerous than a bottle of wine, and less expensive than a cocktail, it's a lovely refreshing summer drink in its own right - though you can also have it in a cocktail to really get the party going.

5. Mingle with London's beautiful people in the city's coolest new area. Located right next to Paddington station and the Paddington arm of the Grand Union Canal, the Paddington development is one of London's newest and best-kept secrets. There's a huge pedestrianised area, with floating bars and restaurants on canal boats, al fresco dining areas, and regular events like outdoor cinema and live music. As a result, this has become the latest cool place to hang out, and attracts a young crowd with a happy, relaxed vibe.
