5 Things to Do at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

The Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews is situated a short ride away from the coastal town of St Andrews.

The hotel does provide a shuttle bus however so it’s very straightforward to travel into the town.

‘5 things’ had the privilege of recently staying at this first rate hotel.

One

Walk into the hotel and be impressed with the friendliest of welcome that you receive. We were greeted at the door and couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome.  This is a large hotel but really cares about each individual guest at all times.

Two

Admire the suspension of little discs suspended from the main lobby area of the Fairmont St Andrews. This new lighting chandelier by award winning artist George Singer can be watched for ages as the little discs catch the light. I’m sure we can expect to see some dramatic lighting effects in the future using this.

Three

Play golf at one of the two courses (Torrance or Kittocks) at the Fairmont St Andrews. The ocean views from these courses are excellent and dramatic.

Here is a video to whet your appetite.

Four

Relax in the Spa. The pool area us modern and swish complete with a snail shower! Massages and other treatments are all available. If you have children then you can take advantage of ‘splash time’.

Five

Dine at La Cucina restaurant and have tasty Italian food. There are other options available from bar snacks in Kittocks Den to more fine dining options in the bar and and grill restaurant. This fine dining option is part of the clubhouse near first tees of the golf courses. You can even choose your own lobster here.
