Everybody loves a good dupe, and what better to try and find a cheaper alternative to than MAC lipsticks with their seemingly infinite shade range, iconic status and ever increasing price tag. Now, before we get started with the post I must mention that these dupes are (all apart from one - Shy Girl) fictitious as I don't actually own the MAC counterparts in question but after a *lot* of research online, I reckon these are about as close as you could get.
MAC Velvet Teddy // MN Matte Gloss in 18*
The infamous Velvet Teddy, made famous by Kylie Jenner and now impossible to get your hands on, I reckon that this one is a dupe that a lot of people will be searching for. A matte pinkish-brown 90s shade, it's perfect for an everyday lip and the MN Matte Gloss sticks around forever, making it a nice, low maintenance option for faking the perfect pout.
MAC Peach Blossom // Seventeen Beehive
A soft rose pink with semi-sheer coverage, this lipstick is the gorgeous everyday shade for just perfecting your lips in an almost gloss like way. I really like this lipstick for tying looks together and I think it would suit just about every skin tone out there. Definitely my top recommendation if you are in the market for something very pared down and neutral.
MAC Girl About Town // The Hotshop No. 15*
A more out there shade with this one, but one that would look amazing paired with a clean eye look on a night out. I love the blue toned pink shade, which this dupe from the Hotshop mimics perfectly, for making your teeth look super white and it's a beautiful bold standout shade for those willing to try it out. Also, the matte with the sheen finish helps it to stick around and you won't have to worry about it smudging all over your face, always good.
MAC Shy Girl // Rimmel Moisture Renew Nude Delight
The only two I actually own, in the bullet these two don't look so similar, but on the lips it is a completely different story. The Rimmel offering leans slightly more matte, which I actually prefer because it means it sticks around for longer, and oddly enough, I also find it more moisturising and comfortable on the lips. Perfect for finishing off looks with darker smokey eyes or wearing patted in on its own, I think both of these shades are probably my most worn in my whole collection.
MAC Diva // MN Matte Gloss in 33*
And finally, a dupe for Diva, the shade that I have wanted to get my hands on for absolutely ever, but couldn't bear to part with the £15 for because it's not one of those ones that I would wear on a regular enough basis. An intense red/burgundy shade which is perfect for the autumn months, the matte formula of this dupe will not budge - (seriously I have to use like 4 cotton pads soaked with Bioderma to get this stuff off) - but for an occasion where touch ups may be hard, this lipstick is the dream.
Who needs expensive makeup, eh? Do you have any more dupes that I should try out?
