I wrote a lot of reviews and features in this blog, but I rarely ever mentioned about my favorite filmmakers. Shala from Life Between Films tagged me to share my favorite filmmakers. My choices are a bit different perhaps because some of them only make few films, but they are worth it.
Alexander Payne
Favorite films : Nebraska, About Schmidt
I am growing to love Alexander Payne’s movie, especially about old man’s life. The man can make drama to be real, light and funny with bold message.

Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris
I never knew husband and wife can rock a marriage and making movies. I only know they have made two films together; Ruby Sparks and Little Miss Sunshine.
–
Mark Romanek
Known for making famous singers and bands music video, including Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, you just know you will have a gorgeous shot his films. Not just that, I love the stories.
–
Cameron Crowe
Favorite film : Say Anything
I have been mentioning the love I have for Crowe before. I can honestly say, I will always love Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything. All his films can be too much sentimental and romantic, but they are touching. Combined with cool music, it’s a great package.

Noah Baumbach
Favorite film : While We’re Young
I need to see more of his films, but the two films he made recently I love, While We’re Young and Frances Ha.
*******
There’s no Christopher Nolan or Martin Scorcese on my list. But, what about you?
