OnePlus 13R vs OnePlus 12R: OnePlus recently launched their two flagship smartphones OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R at the Winter event. Of these, the OnePlus 13R offers flagship features at an affordable price. This device has advanced camera and aluminum frame with glass finish. Also available is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It comes as the successor model of OnePlus 12R.

The price difference between the two smartphones is around Rs.4000. Among them, the OnePlus 13R 12 GB + 256 GB variant has been priced at Rs 42,999. And the base variant of the OnePlus 12R is being sold on Flipkart for Rs 38,987. While there is a slight difference in price, there are some differences between the two models in terms of specifications. Let's take a look at the differences between OnePlus 13R and OnePlus 12R.

OnePlus 13R vs OnePlus 12R: Design

The OnePlus 13R offers a premium feel with a flat design. The OnePlus 13R uses Crystal Shield glass on the front and back, whereas the previous model had Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and glass protection on the back. Both the phones have aluminum frames and dust and water resistant ratings. Overall, both phones are similar, but the OnePlus 13R offers a more premium design.

Both the OnePlus 13R and 12R models have the same display specifications with LTPO OLED panels. While both the phones run Android 15 based operating system, the older OnePlus 12R will only get the OS update up to Android 17, while the OnePlus 13R will get the update up to Android 19.

OnePlus 13R comes with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. And the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is powered by the 12R chipset. The upgraded flagship chipset will deliver up to 25 percent faster performance. Apart from the chipset, the OnePlus 13R model has a faster RAM option – LPDDR5X compared to the LPDDR5 option.

The OnePlus 13R features a triple-camera setup on the back that includes a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary sensor, which supports OIS and f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP Sony IMX2.2 ultrawide lens with f/355 aperture, and a new 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto sensor. On the front is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX480 selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture.

The OnePlus 12R device features a triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP Sony IMX1.8 primary sensor. The primary camera is accompanied by an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide lens and a 2MP Omnivision OV02B macro unit. It features a 16-megapixel Samsung Isocell S5K3P9 front camera for selfies and video calling.

OnePlus 13R vs 12R: Battery

The OnePlus 13R is powered by a 6,000mAh battery, which is bigger than the 5,500mAh battery of the OnePlus 12R. However, the charging speed has been slightly reduced from 100W to 80W.
