42 Killed in Back-to-back Blasts in Quetta

At least 30 people including the cameraman of a private news channel cameraman were killed and several others sustained injuries when back-to-back bomb blasts hit Quetta on Thursday evening.

According to sources, the first blast took place at Rehmattullah Chowk on Alamdar Road, whereas the second one which hit Airport road area nearby came minutes after the first one.

Samaa TV cameraman Imran Sheikh, who had arrived for the coverage of first bomb blast, became the victim of second blast.  The van of a private channel was also damaged in the blast.

The rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the affected area immediately and shifted the injured people and dead bodies to the nearby hospitals. Several injured are said to be critical condition and death toll is feared to climb.

It is pertinent to mention that at least 14 people including two children and three FC personals were killed while more then 40 sustained injuries when a powerful bomb, planted underneath a car, exploded near Bacha Khan Chowk.
