As summer draws to a close, many of us are heading off on last minute vacations, hoping for the last bit of golden summer to linger on our skins and for the flecks of honey to shine in our sea soaked hair. Summer seems to have come in on a breeze and left just as quickly and the things we had planned to do remain undone. Maybe you're like me, and you've vowed to read at least 5 full books by the end of summer. Maybe you can't bare the thought of reading and would rather listen to a book on tape. Well my friends, these books are worth your attention in the last little bit of summer we have left before the school year begins and before reality of fall drawing nearer sets in.

1. Revenge Wears Prada. If you're like me and you've idolized Andie from The Devil Wears Prada and her transformation from geek to chic, then you'll LOVE this book. Andie's transformation somewhat dehumanizes her and this, well, this book makes her appear human again. Trust me, you won't regret this read.

2. The Fault In Our Stars. This book is obviously on everyone's must read list. You've probably heard the buzz...perhaps you've even seen the movie. If you're like me, books draw you in. And for a brief while, you're in the book. It's as if the characters are speaking to you or you've become one. This book brought heartfelt emotions and moments when I was able to coincide with the characters. The book, as always, was a better version than the movie. Warning, read only if you're wearing waterproof mascara...because boy are you going to need it.

3. Chasing Harry Winston. Ok ok. This book seems like the typical single girl read from the cover right? Well, in a way it is. But that's all I can giveaway at this point. The book is one that you need to read because it's purely entertaining and enthralling. Go on, start reading it! Bet that you'll finish it in less than a week because you'll love it so much.

4.  Freakin' Fabulous On A Budget. If you couldn't get enough of Clinton Kelly on What Not To Wear, then you're sure to love this. The guy is a genius when it comes to what we need and where we are going. He himself shares relatable stories with us to communicate that we can undoubtedly still be fabulous...even if we have to pinch the pennies a little bit. I was gifted this book at the Southern Blog Society conference in Atlanta and find myself referring back to it on a weekly basis.

Alright lovelies, time to get to reading and finishing getting that late summer glow on the dock by the lake.
