BLURB FROM THE COVER

Alma Harper and her friends are lost in Widowsfield. They’re trapped in a lie created by The Skeleton Man, and even death provides no escape. As they struggle to discover the truth about the once sleepy town, a new evil emerges: The Watcher in the Walls. As the lies are exposed, the liars are revealed, and the only way out of the maze is to fall into the lies and disappear.

As Alma struggles to find a way out of Widowsfield, a new character comes to town. Her name is Nia, and she is a gifted young woman that can pull memories out of the world around her. Of course, the true memories of Widowsfield are lost behind the lies. As she gets closer to the truth, others will attempt to exploit her gift.

All the while, The Skeleton Man plans his escape. What if he gets out?

EXTRACT

Imagine waking up in the middle of a maze. The walls are too high to climb and the floor is too tough to dig through. You have no idea how you got there, or which way is out. No one answers when you scream, and you’re burdened by a sense of impending loss. You don’t know what it is that you’re afraid of losing, but the feeling is inescapable.

REVIEW

I loved 314 Book 2. It’s even crazier and madder than 314. 314 Book 2 had more twists and turns than I can comprehend. The novel has even more time shifts than 314. The time shifts had time shifts whose babies had time shifts if you get my drift. I had about a thousand questions when I finished reading 314. 314 Book 2 didn’t answer many and added about a million more. I’m sure 314 Book 3 will shine a little light on events. If it ever gets released on Kobo. 314 Book 2 was a great read. Wise offers a proper horror story with demons and all manner of nasty things doing well nasty things. 314 Book 2 offers the kind of horror that used to be published before vampires and werewolves were ‘hot’ and could be considered love interests. The villains in Widowsfield are nasty, manipulative monsters who will wrap coils of wire around your throat until your eyes pop. In the words of Pinhead or something similar ‘they’ll tear your soul apart’. Is Alma alive? Did she die along with her mother when the woman committed suicide? What will The Skeleton Man do now he’s loose in the world? What is the deal with Oliver? What the hell is the battleship all about and what does it have to do with the fog and crazy shit that happened in Widowsfield? What about the sleepers? Argh, I’ve given myself a migraine. 314 Book 2 does have some blood and gore in it. It’s about demons and evil things and time fractures and sinister stuff so blood and guts will be spilled. Every drop of blood spilled has a purpose. Wise manages not to fall into the trap of gore for gore’s sake. I found 314 Book 2 compelling. I was hooked from the first to final words. Roll on 314 Book 3.
