Verdict: Classic Film
Story: Back to the Future starts with under achieving but bigger dreaming teenager Marty McFly (Fox) whose friendship with Doc Brown (Lloyd) puts him in trouble at school but his girlfriend Jennifer (Wells) believes he will make it on day. Marty’s parents George (Glover) gets walked all over by Biff (Wilson) while his mother Lorraine (Thompson) wonders where her life has gone.
Marty gets involved with Doc Brown’s newest invention, a time machine built out of a Deloran, when the experiment goes wrong terrorist come after Doc Brown leading to Marty traveling back to 1955 where he has to work with a younger Doc Brown to get home but also making sure his parents meet after he accidentally gets involved in their time line.
Back to the Future brings us arguable the best time travel film for ever made, it tackles the butterfly effect of time travel with the idea that Marty could start fading away. It is hard to find a fault in this story because it comes off so well but then we could end up looking into the slightly uncomfortable taboo like relationship between Marty and his mom. We have plenty of growing up story lines going on with the standing up for yourself and taking a chance.
Actor Review
Michael J Fox: Marty McFly is our high school student who accidentally gets caught up in the middle of terrorist attack looking for revenge on Doc Brown ends up going back in time 30 years where he ends up having to find a way home and make sure his parents end up together. Michael does a great job where he ends up step into a role that had already been started.
Christopher Lloyd: Dr Emmett Brown is the scientist who creates time travel, he gets killed in the present but when Marty goes back in time he finds the younger version on Doc Brown who has to invent time travel years before. Christopher gives us one of the best entrance to a film series of all time as well as being one of the best characters in the sci-fi genre.
Lea Thompson: Lorraine Baines is Marty’s mother in both time periods but in the past she is the same age as Marty as she starts to fall for him instead of George. Lea gives us a good performance in this role.
Crispin Glover: George McFly is the hapless father of Marty who ends up having to take advice from his own son when it comes to ending up with Lorraine. Crispin shows that he could become a great comic actor.
Thomas F Wilson: Biff Tannen is the bully who has been harassing George his whole life but when Marty goes back in time he helps George stand up to him at a younger age. Thomas is becomes the leading villain of the series that really works well for the series.

Trivia: Apparently Ronald Reagan was amused by Doc Brown’s disbelief that an actor like him could become president, so much so that he had the projectionist stop and replay the scene. He also seemed to enjoy it so much that he even made a direct reference of the film in his 1986 State of the Union address: “As they said in the film “Back to the Future”, ‘Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.'”
Overall: One of the greatest movies ever made end of.
