Day Twenty! Can't believe there are only ten days left, I've got so much more to share! Today I want to discuss rubber stamps. Just a few quick tips for doing them the right way...
1. Make sure you purchase great ink.
I recommend Color Box inking pads. I've had the most success with them. You can purchase at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, etc.
2. Make sure you cover your stamp with ink.
Seems obvious right? Its easy, especially if you are moving quickly to not completely saturate your stamp. Lift it up and press it back down a couple of times. Be generous here.
3. Use an even distribution of weight when stamping your paper.
Lots of times, its easy to use more pressure with your thumb and your index finger, but you should stand up over your work if you can, carefully place your stamp, and press it down evenly and firmly. If not, when you withdraw the stamp, the middle will appear as if it didn't have enough ink form the inking pad. But it probably did and you just didn't strike your paper deliberately enough.
Let me know if you've got more tips. I'll try to circle back with a blog on creative ways to use the stamps. Lots of cool things you can do. Either in the next 10 days or a future blog, I promise!
Take care and we'll be back tomorrow!
