Soooo I was in London this week, for 24 hours to be exact, to check out the River Island collection that’s coming for Fall/Winter ’14 and visit their headquarters. Even though it was a short trip, I had such a good time! Here’s what I did:
The first thing we did was head over to the showroom and checked out the AW14 collection. It was so good! I was especially stunned by the amazing shoes (those croc black booties!) and fluffy coats. There was a lot of faux fur, military style but also soft tones, pastel coats and lots of leather. Almost (yeah, almost) made me want to skip summer and head straight to autumn and wear all those great coats and boots. Autumn is my favorite fashion season anyways and the River Island collection totally confirmed that. It was a lot of fun to see Rebecca again as well (pictured above).
I also did a little DIY-ing and made this super cute little pom pom! So adorable right?
One of my favorite items shown at the press day was a huge fluffy leopard coat. I’m definitely going to keep an eye out later this year when the autumn collection hits stores because I need it in my life! After that we changed and went to have a really nice dinner at Balthazar. Above pictured on the right is what I wore, but I’ll show better pictures of that look soon! (it’s a River Island jumpsuit and blazer).
The next day we went to River Island HQ in London which was both huge and really fun to see. I love having a peek behind the scenes of brands that I like and it was so much fun to walk around the office, see all kinds of samples, see how people work really hard there to make so many collections and new stuff. The place just smelled like fashion and creativity. They even have a gym and masseur in the office!
After that it was time to head back home again. Which was kind of a pity because I really love London and would have loved have stayed a little longer, but I guess I’ll just have to plan another trip soon! Thank you River Island for giving my huge cravings for your AW14 collection, I can’t wait for it to hit stores.
Happy weekend!
