Today I’ll keep it short and sweet, because I’m up to my armpits in baby clothes. Etta has outgrown her newborn and 0-3 month clothes (sniff, sniff) and so I’m boxing them up and organizing the bigger things.
I’m not sure how housewives got the {ridiculous} reputation of sitting around watching TV and eating Bon Bons all day {what the heck is a bon bon anyway?} I haven’t sat down in the middle of the day to watch TV since I had Henry almost 5 years ago…ok maybe a few times, but I can’t remember a time in recent memory when I’ve even had the time to pee, let alone sit around watching TV.
The nighttime, however, is a different story. I put the kids to bed around 7:30 and then, the evening is mine. I always have lots to do, so I secretly love when laundry or clothes sorting is on the agenda because it means that I can watch something while I do it.
Any time I watch TV I call it taking a “brain nap.” I need it sometimes as a way to let all of my thoughts settle, relax, and just stop thinking for a few minutes.
So, with that, here’s my Day 6: I am thankful for Brain Naps.
I’m currently OBSESSED with this show:
A friend recommended it a few months back and I decided to start it about a week ago, watching about a 1/2 episode or so a night.
OH. MY. PLACENTA. Y’ALL. I’m officially addicted. I’m pretty sure I’ve cried in every single episode which somehow both annoys me and keeps me coming back for more.
Here are a few other favorites that I think everyone should see at least once in their lifetime:
because he’s hilarious, and his take on home-birth KILLS ME.
because it will change the way you think about pregnancy and birth
because sometimes a brain nap includes bouts of hysterical laughter that may or may not include snorting, crying, and perhaps, a bit of drool.
Favorite quote:
“I’ve been practicing like crazy all of my cowboy skills, shootin’, ropin’, pancake eatin’. Why? Because sometimes I feel like Jay doesn’t respect me as a man.”
live well. be well.
