2022: COVID-19 Has Changed My World... Part 4!

By Josephharrison1990 @JTAH_1990

You'd think that three years after Boris Johnson's ramblings we would be rid of liars?! You know, right? Not the case, babe! Three Prime Ministers down the line, things remain in a quagmire! Credit to Westminster, those Tory voters really gone messed things up! Covid has subsided but stupidity continues to prevail furthermore! Miss China, let's give the world a shock!

Boris's showcase of parties and lies, well that mess triggered his long-awaited resignation. Was he going to apologise? Was he toffee! Partygate was real and people who had lost loved ones from a distance were infuriated, rightly so they were! So, we needed another leader? Did they have to really be a Tory? Any party for me would never do! Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak were about to campaign for their lives! With plans to leave the country, I wasn't afraid to use my right to vote as a British Citizen! General Election, where were you?! Pathetic! Those who could heat their homes and educate their kids privately had their voting rights stumped because it was up to an internal hustings to elect the next 'jobsworth'. Honestly, drop me out of this mess! 中国, 我来了! So, Miss Truss made her way into Number 10 with a shouty entrance speak completed, even a lettuce would last longer than her time as Prime Minister! Just wait! As if the Pandemic had given us enough to worry about, this new Gov were about to crash the market! GBP gone died, B!

Liz  had us madder than mad, she gave us major 'Thatcher Vibes' and for those who possessed a mind, well we wanted her out of that top spot! Her and Kwasi even had the 'Bank of England' panicked! Even the late Monarch completed her service with Truss as her final PM in office, truly an insult. As Truss resigned after seven weeks, Rishi Boy took the post with much gusto but was he registered with a NHS GP? Was he heck! No, he wasn't! Our Parliament stands in a period of distress with teachers, doctors, paramedics and nurses all striking! Not forgetting the train drivers and other transport workers, we stand with them but we'd rather keep moving and healthy after the 'stop/start' malarkey we've had to live through the Pandemic! Pay those 'Key Workers' their wage and be done with your ways, we don't want to raise our flaming torches and pitchforks! The British people have spoken and we aren't going to deal with any more mess from this so-called Tory Government! You already told us that life is back on, let us live right! No, no!

Whilst people in the United Kingdom continue with their racism, my heart has continued to be with those who are in the Middle Kingdom. Real talk, I am counting down those days until my return to China, a whole one way flight it will be! People have spoken the worst about China, they have chastised people who have appeared to look remotely 'East Asian' regardless what their actual passports legally stated. That's not cool! Is it?! No! Miss China has been lifting those restrictions with the quickness, I continue to have faith that my life will be situated within that East Asian country soon! I am not messing about, I have been putting things into place and that is all I am prepared to divulge. I am keeping things professional. People who've never been to China continue to spout the most ignorant statements, their lack of intelligence castes a shadow but we don't pay them any mind! I don't think! The news can take a hike because the coverage from the UK post-Covid Zero has been incorrect and outdated! China, let's get it good! 加油, C!

2022 dated this blog post may be, such events transpired within China with a change from the central government. Beijing changed the game, breaking a new dawn after those Zero measures were made no more, now that was music to my British ears! Things have been swift with the resumption of China flights from the UK with Mainland flights landing on a daily even more before January 8th 2023. I have been on my own personal journey, from being locked down at home to then having actual hope that my life would resume much sooner than I had envisaged it to have done! Category B status has been declared with the next phase of relaxations on the way, the path to normality will prevail in the near future. I have faith and I stand with the Chinese people, this worldwide pantomime of sorts need not carry on. After almost three years, I will be making my comeback and I won't be taking any questions. Ready and waiting, the hate coming from you all isn't going to get you anywhere! China will prosper beyond their 2023 reopening!

People from all walks of life continue to rely on 'food banks' and 'community markets' because the 'cost of living crisis' has caught us. To me, 'food banks' shouldn't be a thing in a so-called western country but the Pandemic and government mishandling has trapped people. People should not be begging for their weekly shop, I have nothing against 'food banks' but not in the United Kingdom. I do not think! Kids should not be going hungry whilst 'Members of Parliament' take their extended seasonal holidays. We already have stretched school cooks who aren't able to stretch their resources to those pupils who need a nourishing meal the most! Something doesn't feel right!? No, it doesn't! Right now, we stand as a broken country with a large amount of our UK in a snicker-doodle of a situation. I am not telling lies! Best believe! I can now understand why these struggling families are letting everything else go apart from food! I am done with the in-justice, we should be able to live comfortably?! Feed these children, now!

We've had our vaccines, taken our masks off and resumed to whatever a normal life is supposed to be, or have we? Seeing another new 'scare headline' once the previous no longer has us panicked, just what the media and government have been conjuring up! When I heard about the 'community shop' that had opened in my local town centre, honestly speaking I was not liking the sound of it. Why have we been left like an unwanted reduced item on a supermarket shelf? People having to put their self-respect to one side just to feed themselves and their families. Being told such tips from the nightly news that will save us money, such tips that will keep us warm throughout the colder months without having to turn our heating on! A former colonial power having to plead on television ads for donations to keep food banks operating? Africa is laughing at Europe hard right now, there's nothing Great about Britain and the fallout from the Pandemic has shown us. The Gov don't care! So, the question remains? To heat or eat? Oh, life!

Life sure works in very funny ways, like so I was afforded the chance to visit Paris, France in November 2022. France had implemented their 'Pass Sanitaire' with an iron grip, not permitting entry to hospitality venues along with it acting as a 'Vaccine Pass'. I had no issue with the implementations but knew that once their tourism adverts proclaimed 'Oui, oui, oui' things would be different. Absolutely, some venues like the 'Musée du Louvre' would prefer visitors to have pre-booked QR code tickets to present upon arrival at their allocated time. I actually preferred having a time to aim for during that first morning in Paris. The experience seeing the 'Mona Lisa' was stress-free, unlike those less planned tourists that Covid hangover had saved me time. With the weather staying dry, cool and crisp, I was able to make the most of the outdoor curbside dining options during my time in Paris. The European way worked out the best way! Navigating my way around the city of Paris was stress-free, such Covid measures had ceased.

On the whole, nothing Covid related inhibited my trip to Paris, for that freedom I felt thankful. Attractions like the 'Pantheon' met visitors halfway with pre-booked or walk-up options upon entry to that formidable museum-like venue. From being a hot-bed of rules and a mighty strong Lockdown, to see the life back in the city of Paris, well it felt and all looked just like I had imagined. If you asked me this time last year whether my 2022 would be filled with limitless travel within my limits, I would be calling you a liar! The Moulin Rouge had me shocked, we were seated almost shoulder to shoulder! I wasn't mad nor panicked, it felt nice to resume some normality! Even 'Disneyland, Paris' was popping, alive with thousands of excitable visitors that included myself. To be standing in-line waiting for a rollercoaster amongst a hundred or so other people, that felt like life had resumed for real. I have every confidence that the whole world will be on the same page soon enough, Paris played ball and with that said, France impressed me!

我回来了!
