Do you remember last week when Porsche announced the Plug-in hybrid versions of the Panamera would performance be increased in part thanks to a larger battery? Well, Stuttgart confirmed on Tuesday that the Cayenne hybrids get the same treatment.
That's right while the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Hybrids that get by with a 14.1 kilowatt hour battery can increase their battery capacity to a whopping 17.9 kilowatt hours. Not bad, right?

There is a catch, however. Since Porsche says the hybrid Cayennes are at least six months away from a U.S. launch, there are no estimates of EPA range for electronic devices only. Hence, we don't know how many miles those additional 3.8 kilowatt hours will bring to owners.
We do know, however, that the Cayenne powertrains will otherwise carry over unchanged for 2021, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. That means we'll see the mighty V8 again Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid and its 670 hp, as well as the less powerful, but still good Cayenne E-Hybridwhich only gets a V6 and 455 hp.
We don't yet know how much the Porsche Cayenne hybrids will cost in 2021, but they are Porsche, so the answers are likely "a lot" and "a lot more optional."
