To quote a recent speech and toast from a Father of a Bride “This one is for family!”.
I think this can perfectly sum up my approach to my work, how I see, capture and show things. Often heavily interlaced with humour, but it’s honest and raw. Giving insight from many perspectives to the people and the day. I’ll make no apologies for a ridiculous shot, if it happened – it’s there in the edit. On the balancing side, if there’s opportunities for tender scenic portraits, they will also have their place within which to shine!
What I have chosen to present here is what I attune to, tenderness, love, vulnerability, and humor. I’m sure the couples I have worked with would have chosen other images from their wedding days, as the ‘winners’. That’s the beauty in objectivity of art and humanity. We are all different and we all align to different things.
Thanks for the invitation !
Each wedding has been an experience of personal growth. Publicly shared moments that resonate with family & guests, yet they strike a chord and leave a mark within my own subconscious. Enriching my perspective upon life, relationships and family. Creativity through story telling, my very own balm for the soul!
I hope this selection stirs up a mix of emotion from the WTF! to the sweet, to the clever bastard. If it does, I’ve done what I set out to achieve!
Credit due to Associate photographers, Oana, Hayley and Will with a number of images in here. Great work and thanks for keeping true to the style!
