20 YEARS AGO: Hysteric Ego - Time To Get Back

This fiery floorfiller by Hysteric Ego reached number 50 in the UK charts 20 years ago in February 1999.
Featured below are the single version (actually an edit of the Shorthairedloverfromessex Remix), as well as mixes by Ruff Driverz and Static Revenger. It appears to feature a sample from 'Crazy Horses' by The Osmonds, which is always a good thing. Hysteric Ego's first big hit 'Want Love' first hit the airwaves in 1996 and became a club smash. The years since have produced more Top 75 hits, worldwide DJ gigs, countless tracks on highly respected compilation albums and millions of single sales.

Hysteric Ego is the alias of British producer Rob White. His career began in the group Whyte, who "made dance music in a band environment". They had a few minor hits such as 'Purple Haze' and Balearic-style house track 'Promises'. "The way the club scene was evolving I thought I'd go more on the house tip, electronically..." he told Music Radar. This resulted in the house classic 'Want Love', and a series of other singles. Hysteric Ego's most recent release was the 2016 track 'Good Lovin''.
