20 Favorite Margarita Cocktails

By Creativeculinary @CreativCulinary

If you love margaritas like I do, then you'll love this list of my 20 Favorite Margarita Cocktails. I have lots that I love!

Surprisingly this year, the celebration of The Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo fall on separate Saturdays...we should proclaim this a necessity every year! I do love mint juleps but the margarita? Well, I daresay it's my favorite cocktail so today I put together an entire post with my 20 Favorite Margarita Cocktails...I know you'll love one of them!

Margaritas seem to me to be the quintessential warm weather cocktail. It always amazes me that National Margarita Day is February 22? Whoever decided that? I mean really, who? Before I start that movement to get this day allocated to a summer month, I thought the least I could do was share the Favorite Margaritas I love that I've already posted so when you see my push to make it a three day holiday you can get onboard with me. Deal?

I seriously believe I've got almost all fruits covered...except blueberries. Why not a blueberry margarita? How can I consider this my all time list of Favorite Margarita Cocktails and not include one of my favorite fruits?

Not sure actually how that happened so think I need to add that to my summer calendar, something new to look forward to...honestly I might have to make it today. Now that it's on my mind and all. And drink it today too. 🙂

In the meantime let me share the ones I love, always starting with what I consider the Perfect Margarita. It takes a bit of time to reach that perfection as this recipe includes steeping the mixture for a couple of hours before serving it but trust me, it IS worth it. Not in the mood; OK, go for the quick and dirty version, but just this once OK?

This is my all time favorite; actually this is the margarita that changed margaritas for me. I hated them before I made my own and it's as simple as one word. Reposado. Oops make that two. Reposado and Orange Liqueur (no triple sec here!). Use good ingredients and fresh fruit and the difference will be remarkable. Don't you DARE buy that premix stuff ever again...you will not be sorry!

This is a great combination of flavors; the tart fruit makes it a bit less sweet and the color is out of this world beautiful. I like pretty drinks, don't you?

A long time pal has prickly pears on her property in Arizona; she sent some to me and the rest is history. I had heard Prickly Pear juice tasted like bubblegum and I get that might not be on your list to try but don't let it stop you...this was absolutely amazing!

Honestly this cocktail came about when I was at the market and looking for something I had yet to use in a margarita. Pineapple?!! Sure, and it's delicious too!

Using any kind of hot pepper really adds a nice dimension to a margarita. Not too much mind you, we don't want fire, just a bit of heat.

Made with Casamigos Tequila which was originally devised by George Clooney. But don't let that fool you...this is a truly quality product and the simplest of margaritas.

I discovered this combination at a tequila tasting...and have loved it ever since.

I made this exceptional cocktail last year with no regrets. This is not just a pretty face; it is truly an outstanding cocktail.

It's definitely unique; a fun combination of two cocktails and the result is both beautiful and delicious!

Meant to be a popsicle; when I added too much tequila for it to freeze, I had to compromise...and a slushy it is!

Not for the faint of heart...this definitely has a kick from Jalapeno Tequila.

I think right after the classic margarita in popularity must be the Strawberry Margarita. I do recall when I couldn't stand those first forays into margarita drinking years ago that sipping a strawberry one was delightful. Still is.

No, you read that right. This is not a watermelon margarita but watermelon infused with the flavors of margarita. Now this is summer only but save it for a nice day with a fabulous watermelon. So delish!

I do think I could make this list a mile long...here are a couple more!

Honestly not to beat a dead horse but how on earth did I miss those blueberries?

In case you need some foods too? Here are a couple of my favorites!

OK, obviously not a margarita but you have to serve them with something right? Forget all the extravagant concoctions you might have seen; make your guacamole simple and let the avocado shine; put all the extras on the side. It's truly the best!

Try making your own refried beans for this dish; the link to do that is in the post...nothing beats them!

My favorite Mexican dish served in a casserole that makes it easy for a crowd. I first had this at a football game not long after moving to Colorado...it started my love for spicy peppers after a lifetime of avoiding the green bell variety!

I hope you can find something among all of these cocktails and foods that suit you...I'm thinking for me, I'm ready for the first one again and ALL the food, how about you?
