20 Essential Things to Carry While Traveling in India

Passport is the most essential thing and must be packed in your handbag first. It is not only required when you are traveling abroad but being the most valid id card it is accepted everywhere as Identity proof. Identity proofs are travel essentials for India as it is required everywhere.

Driving License is another important ID card which one must carry along. Rental cars and bikes are available in almost all the cities and towns and to book one, driving license is the must.

Debit and Credit Cards are the two cards for which there is no need to write an explanation about why one must carry them. Yeah! DO NOT FORGET IT!.

Cash is something we generally do not care about nowadays as we have access to facilities such as money transfer apps, debit and credit cards. Of course! there is no doubt about how safe these are in comparison to carrying cash but there are many developing and underdeveloped cities or towns which still rely on cash.

Camera, to capture your happy travel moments and also to click some splendid pictures for your social media handles.

Notebook and Pen, if you love writing down every experience and moments to keep the memory safe. Also, one best practice is to write down the phone numbers of your friends and family on the notebook to get in touch with your close ones in case your phone gets stolen or some technical glitch occurs.

First Aid Kit must contain all the prescribed medicines if having any medical history and few OTC (Over-the-counter) medicines for fever, cough and cold, period cramps, sore throat, dizziness, vomiting or nausea, dehydration, headache, improper motions, skin rashes, eye drop and wash, ear drop, pain killer oils or sprays, antiseptic cream, cream or spray for insect bites and stings and few basic such as gauze dressings, plasters, bandages, crepe bandages, safety pins, scissors, thermometer, distilled water for cleaning wounds, inhalers, and other essential medicines. These above-mentioned medicines and first aid items are must-have travel items for India.

Sanitary Napkins and Tampons are must for India packing list ( female ) because you never know when your periods can make a surprise visit. It's a fact that you may get your periods much earlier while traveling as the body suffers stress due to lack of sleep and exertion.

Toiletry Bag is the all-in-one travel kit. Some of the necessary toiletries to be carried are a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, perfumes, hairbrush or comb, moisturizer, sunscreen, shampoo, hair conditioner, face wash, wet wipes, night cream, body lotions, de-tan mask, lipsticks, lip balms, hair pins, and hair clips, CC and BB creams, concealers, compacts, eyeliners, mascara, eye shadows, earrings, wristlets, neck pieces, nail cutter and other makeup items. If you are traveling via flight then all liquid toiletries should not be more than 100 ml.

Specs and Contact lenses are necessary to carry for those who need them for a comfortable journey.

Clothes, according to the place you are traveling to, like for cold climates carry hoodies, sweaters, scarfs, woolen gloves, and socks, etc, for hot climates one must carry shots, tank tops, t-shirts, skirts, dresses, etc, and for beaches, of course, bikinis.

Shoes consume a lot of space in your travel bag, so it is advisable not to carry too many of them but at least one extra pair must be carried.

Water Bottle, because while we travel, our body gets dehydrated. So, we need to consume more water to keep us hydrated and healthy. Drinking water should be in your travel India checklist.
