From Greg Shaw's book The Doors On The Road (which reports the date of July 9, 1967):
The Doors perform a standard although somewhat sedate set, with Morrison injecting some additional lyrics into the songs. During the "There you sit" phrases in the middle of "Break on Through", his voice is fierce, as it he were berating the audience, which he quite possibly is. The crowd is unusually quiet during the show and seems thoroughly unfamiliar with the songs. "Back Door Man" yields some demented laughter and groans from Morrison, who then extends the song with some supplementary poetry adopted from the evolving "Celebration of the Lizard" and "The End". Of additional note is that Jim inserts lyrics from the emerging "Five to One" ("Get together, one more time") just before the concluding stanza of "The End".
My notes:A decent audience recording of an average performance, although some vocal improvisations by Morrison from songs yet to be published are worth a listen. Back Door Man is cut at the end, and also The End is missing the first part. The exact date of this concert was uncertain (November 19 and July 9 were cited), but it is now confirmed as November 3, 1967.Links:http://zmnmwx.link-protector.comorhttp://zmnmwv.link-protector.com
