17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick Review

By Lisagray @juicysatsuma
I’m sure the beauty lovers amongst you have all heard of (and possibly own) a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick compact. It’s one of those cult products along with Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream and YSL’s Touch Eclat that every beauty editor has in their arsenal. Unfortunately though, with a £30 price tag, it is a luxury purchase.
That’s why I was delighted to see that 17 at Boots have added two shimmer bricks to their make-up collection and at £4.99 they are much more affordable! At present it’s available in two colours, Gold Bronze and Pink Bronze. I went for the Pink Bronze as I’m very pale skinned and find pinks much more flattering. The Gold Bronze does look beautiful though and would be lovely on tanned skin.
The Pink Bronze is very similar in tone to Bobbi Brown’s Pink Quartz and it’s worth mentioning that, despite the word “Bronze”, I would definitely describe this more as a highlighter than a bronzer. As with the Bobbi Brown versions, the idea is that you sweep your brush through all four colours and apply to cheeks, temples, the bridge of your nose and your cupids bow.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a great photo which shows the shimmer really clearly on my face but you can take my word for it, it's lovely!

It gives a really subtle, youthful glow which looks great in natural light and will look even better in the summer time. If you’re swithering over whether or not to invest in a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick then give this 17 version a try first.

P.S What do you think of my new darker hair colour? It's a little semi-permanent as mentioned in my Natural Hair Care Tips post.
