10th Edition of Ex- ‘Mitra Shakti-2024’ Ends

The final demonstration of the joint Exercise ‘Mitra Shakthi X,’ which ushers in revitalized bonds of friendly goodwill and strong cooperation between the Sri Lanka Army and the Indian Army, took place on 23 August 2024 at the Maduru Oya Army Training School (ATS) grounds.

This exercise, designed to strengthen the bonds of goodwill and cooperation between the Sri Lanka Army and the Indian Army, showcased the culmination of extensive theoretical and practical training focused on counter-terrorism. The Indian Army contingent, led by Colonel Ravinda Ahlawat, participated in the exercise, which also included cultural and sports events aimed at fostering camaraderie and mutual understanding among the troops.

The State Minister of Defence, Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Indian High Commissioner, Mr. Santosh Jha,Army Commander Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage , Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks from both Armies, were present. The event concluded with an exhibition of military equipment used during the exercise, providing a comprehensive overview of the collaboration’s outcomes.
