10 Western Wardrobe Essentials for a Working Mom

Post baby, when I resumed office I had little time to take care of myself or to care about what I was wearing to office. There were days where in I have gone to office without even pressing/ ironing my dress :P. But I know there are many moms who would like to get into that mould all over again of dressing to office confidently though they have areas of baby fat along the midriff, arms and thigh areas. This post is dedicated to all those working moms ;  yes the western wardrobe essentials for a working mom.

WESTERN WARDROBE ESSENTIALS FOR A WORKING MOM

1.  FORMAL SHIRTS IN STRIPES/ CHECKS

If you are a mom who has to returned to work / is planning to resume your job pretty soon invest in solid colored formal shirts. Go for vertical prints / small checks as it would cut down your frame and hide out your fat areas. You can opt in for reds , maroons, blues and browns . Go for the 3/4 hand length as it could tone down your arms as well. You can progress to light shades according to your preference.

2. TROUSERS / SKIRTS

Well fitted trousers with a good belt are a must for a working mom . Opt for the ones which goes down your thighs giving a toned look . Avoid baggy or loose trousers especially if you haven’t lost the baby weight . Go in for dark shades like dark greys , browns and blacks. Same goes with skirts , opt in for knee length ones in dark shades.

3. BLAZER

Formal blazers for that important business meetings or cool casual blazers for weekend meetups or business hangouts. Opt for darker shades when it comes to formal blazers. Pink , white , Cream or offwhite blazers work wonders for a informal brunch or late lunch meetups.

4. BAG

Go for a bag in solid color where in you can stuff everything you want right from car keys to baby diapers or socks . Make sure you have the good comfort levels even while you hold your baby in the other hand. Go for dark shades and shades of the season like orange , pink , metallic etc.

5. SCARFS

Want to play around with your same shirt you wore last week ? Want to hide out breast milk leakage ? Colorful Scarfs can do the magic here.  Stock up a number of colorful scarfs to recreate the magic to lift up your mood.

6. FLAT HEELS/ HEELS

Nothing can give you the unique feeling of pairing a formal wear with a pair of front closed flat heels. Opt in for the same color as your belt and yes look for the comfort levels first.

7. CASUAL T SHIRTS

Again comfort is the key. Go for vertically printed tshirts in any color you wish .

8. CASUAL SHOES / CANVAS SHOES

Opt it for that day in office where in you can go casual. Goes with a well fitting tshirt and a cool classic denim.

9. DENIMS /JEANS

Be it blue or black or any color , invest in well fitting jeans. No baggy or bootcut which have gone out of the style and makes you look flabby all around your weak areas. Instead go for straight or lean cuts in denims.

10. GOGGLES / SUN GLASSES

Goggles can add to that style statement of yours . It can also help to protect your eyes from dirt , allergens and direct sunlight.
