10 Truths About Life Everyone Forgets Too Soon

Posted on the 22 February 2017 by Divine T. @backlinkfy

Sometimes you can hear something a thousand times in different ways before it finally gets through your head?

These ten truths focus on life lessons that many of us likely learned yesterday or years ago, and for whatever reason, haven’t fully understood.

This is a permanent reminder to all of us on how to retain and make use of information we collect over time because life has a way of intruding the path to your goals.

1. Things Change Very Quickly

Don't be scared by running away, embrace change and realize it happens for a reason. It might look crazy at first, but over time you'll get to understand it was worth every bit.

Things change, often spontaneously every day.  People in your life and circumstances come and go.  Life doesn’t stop for anybody.  It moves rapidly and rushes from calm to chaos in a matter of seconds, hours, days, and happens like this to people and even you.

Sometimes the shortest split second in time changes the direction of our lives.  A seemingly innocuous decision rattles our whole world like a meteorite striking Earth.  Entire lives have been swiveled and flipped upside down, for better or worse, on the strength of an unpredictable event.  And these events are always happening to someone else right this second.

2. You Make Your Create Own Life

When I was younger. I think around 17 years old, I already knew what I wanted to be in the future. Your life is yours alone, people who you welcome into it can  try to sway you, but they can’t decide for you.  They can eat, sleep, and walk with you, but they will never really be in your shoes.  So make sure the path you decide to walk in life, simply aligns with your own desires and goals, and don’t be scared to switch paths or pave a new one when it makes sense for your future accomplishments.

Remember, it’s always better to be at the bottom of the ladder you want to climb than the top of the one you don’t. And if life only teaches you one thing, let it be that taking a passionate calculated leap is always worth it, even if you fail.

3. You Might Be Hanging Around The Wrong Crowd

To be great, you'll have to be alone or surround yourself with people who have similar goals. You shouldn’t have to force connections with people who constantly make you feel less than great.

Limiting the amount of people you call friends and focus on the people who truly contribute to making your life better. If someone makes you feel uncomfortable and insecure every time you’re with them, for whatever reason, they’re probably not the right friend for you - take the courage to move on and build for yourself.

4. Material Possession Can't Define You

This is one of the points that seems not to sink well with a lot of people. Property really is just stuff, and it has absolutely no bearing on who you are as a person when considering the real aspects of life.  Most of us (me included can live life with much less than we think we need).

We live in a consumer culture, where you are programmed to shop!!!!!

If you don't have the following:  a degree, a job, car, a house, you are consider a loser. It's pitiful, because one day you’ll wake up and realize you’ve been sucked dry financially and in piles of debt. Break the cycle and live a life you truly want. Unfortunate, you'll need to work 100X harder in achieving anything but you can do it.

5.  Thinking And Doing Can Be Confusing

Thinking is simply trying to figure out a solution to a problem, doing is taking action to accomplish that goal. Success will require more than just thinking, doing is what gets you in the race. You can't be what you say you'll be, you are what you do every day, month, year. Having knowledge without action only wakes you up in the morning.  Good things don’t come to those who wait; they come to those who work on meaningful small or big goals, that lead to success. Don't wait, start taking baby steps now and figure out the rest on your way.

When you take trips you enjoy, you never really know what to expect on your way (that's scary) but what's even much scarier is not taking the trip to find out what would've happened. Never, I repeat - Never wait to start what you are truly passionate about. If you fail, trust me you will learn a valuable lesson and can fix your errors on the next time up.

6.  Always Forgive and Move On Quickly

Life is short, don't make it complicated than it already is. Once you know how to let go of apologies you never got, you will live a life based on your terms. The main point here is to be grateful for every experience no matter how big or small, negative or positive.  Treat every situation as a learning experience and move on with your life.

7.  Productivity Doesn't Come From Being Busy

I hear this all the time, "I was busy", I'm always busy" Doing what. If you can show what you've been busy working on, then that might be beneficial to you. Busyness isn’t a virtue, nor is it something to respect.  Though we all have times of crazy schedules, very few of us have a legitimate need to be busy every day.  We simply don’t know how to live within our means, prioritize properly, and say no when we should. Saying know can be very powerful when it come to your future. Say "NO" often rather than "Yes" when it comes to your gut.

8. Love Who You Are, Never Depend On Someone Else

Make sure you are nice to others, but it’s even more than important to be nice to yourself.  You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world where your decision can either take you down a black hole or lift you up to the mountains.  So make sure you don’t start seeing yourself through the eyes of those who don’t value you.  Know your worth, even if they don’t, after all "It's your life and they should accept you to be in it" not control the circumstances.

9. Learn To Accept Failure

Making mistakes are unavoidable, especially as an entrepreneur.  Learn to forgive yourself and keep going forward.  It’s not a problem to make mistakes but it's how you solve or fix those mistakes that matters.

If you’re too afraid of failure, you can’t possibly do what needs to be done to be successful, it's that simple. This will never change, it's part of life.

10. Human Life is Very Short

I know a lot of us won't like to hear this, but some day we will not be on this planet, even you reading right now. We know deep down that life is short, and death will happen to all of us in due time, and yet we are infinitely surprised when it happens to someone we know.  At least that's one thing we can all agree on, so live your life to the fullest "Not only partying" but doing the things that make you excited about waking up every morning. Live life today and take actions that will fulfill you dreams for generations to come.

Ask yourself this question every morning.

How would you like to be remembered 10 years from now?
